We are a group of students at Queen’s University working to address barriers to outdoor-based learning.

We work together as a team - all initiatives, including the lending library, the website, and workshops, were organized and implemented with each member’s input taken into account. The Queen’s Outdoor Field Experience Initiative would not be possible without the support of the Queens’ Biology Department, our many partners & sponsors, and feedback from the Queen’s community.

Position Descriptions

  • Chair

    The Chair runs team meetings, sets committee goals, coordinates and manages initiatives among team members and community partners, & oversees general team logistics and organization.

  • Lending Library Manager/Coordinator

    The Lending Library team oversees lending library maintenance and administration, organizes inventory, collects donations, and coordinates the rental system.

  • Treasurer

    The Treasurer oversees our finances, manages the budget, keeps track of expenses, donations, and funding, & researches funding resources.

  • Website Manager

    The website manager keeps our website up-to-date with new resources, opportunities, events, and lending library inventory.

  • Social Media and Outreach Manager

    The Social Media and Outreach team oversees our online presence by posting updates and interacting with our community through Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Partnerships & Funding Coordinator

    The Partnerships and Funding Coordinator reaches out to local businesses and organizations that might be interested in partnering with QOFEI, for example by donating gear, partnering with us on an event, or offering a discount at their store

  • Events Coordinator

    The Events Coordinator(s), along with the rest of the committee, brainstorms ideas for outdoor skills training events and workshops. They are responsible for running the events, managing logistical details, and gathering feedback from event attendees.

  • General Members

    General members help the rest of the committee with any initiatives they are most interested in, such as helping run the lending library, planning events, or compiling resources for the website
